Sing a song of sixpence
A pocket full of rye.
Four and twenty blackbirds
Baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened,
The birds began to sing.
Wasn’t that a dainty dish
To set before the king?
A dainty dish? Oh, I suppose, but did you never wonder how four and twenty blackbirds fit inside an ordinary pie? Well, just you ask my mother; she cooked it.

Megan Branning is a children’s librarian living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her husband. When not writing, she’s usually reading or gaming. Louise Ratcliffe is a scientist and an artist. She spent her school days either trying to blow stuff up in Chemistry, or creating angsty pieces of writing and performance art. She is originally from England, and came to New Zealand as a souvenir from an OE. She is currently doing everything she never planned to do out in rural Waikato.

I know I should post more often. I always have an opinion or reaction after hearing each story, but by the time I am next at leisure in front of my computer the thoughts have flown. Like the Magpie in this story, my thoughts have stayed with me. It was absolutely delightful! Well written and well read. I, myself, often ponder the unusual how & why questions that get me eye-rolls from my partner. I like where these same ponderings took this author. I don't bake often, but I'd like the recipe for this pie crust.
