What an unusual horror story. I've never seen a plot quite like this.
Holy f@ck! This was a nasty, nasty story. Dory & Will absolutely hate each other. I thought Will had had an affair or stole something from his wife and that's why they were trying to patch things up. I didn't see the Costco shooting-and-husband-hiding twist. Dory never forgave her husband for this act. Was Dory still suffering from PTSD-rage-revenge? Is that why she betrayed her husband? Was it simply tit-for-tat? Dory and Will had trust issues?!... um... no sch@t, Sherlock. Dory and the aliens (Fool's Fire) wanted to play a game... and oh f#ck did they ever. Indeed, both Dory & Will threw each other to the wolves twice. When Dory stopped loving Will, her revenge was twisted, and perhaps even justified. This episode should be shared with couples therapists.
I'm going to go and hug my spouse and perhaps even share this episode with her.
I liked this one a lot. It reminded me a little bit of the story from last year or the year before, maybe, about the married couple going on a hiking trip and trying to reconnect, and there were monsters under the rocks, like in Tremors, and each of the couple wanted to save each other. Can anyone tell me what that story was?
Of course, this one had a much different reason for the disconnectedness, and a much different outcome! It was very interesting to see. Maybe the guy didn't deserve but I can understand why she would have been willing to sacrifice him for her own self-preservation (for whatever remained of herself afterward). Too bad for the former survivor and all the future victims, though!
