Hello, and welcome again to the filmpoll where you actually vote for the best movie! Or at least the one you most enjoyed.
-
So at some point there will be a tournament of the winners? Or the overall winner will be the one that lasted the longest?
-
I think we need the old Jeopardy rule that five time winners step aside.
-
I may do something like the Jeopardy rule. And I'll probably do some kind of runoff of previous winners once the main poll is over. But that's a long time off... I've got 84 films still in the hat, waiting for their random draw!
-
With that in mind, maybe you might want to make it a 8-film at a time runoff.
-
Wow, good mix of films. This will be closer than I might have expected.

With only 20 or so total voters, if we had more films I think everything would turn out in a tie.
In other news, where's the love for 2001? I mean, I know it's up against heavy competition, but it is the classic SF picture.

Or you could do an elimination round where you put up around 20 movies, and any that don't get a vote get cut. Then go from there.

Yeah, but it's Monty Python. I loved 2001, I've read all the books, but if I have to choose between watching one or t'other, it's Monty Python.
-
Great group. I've never seen Army of Darkness, will have to check it out. Had to go with the classic masterpiece, 2001.
-
I like Holy Grail ( I own it ), but it's not a movie to watch again and again. It's inconsistant. Eventhough it has some of the funniest jokes in movie history (the number is three), there's enough stupid stuff to make it less than perfect.
-
Army of Darkness! I know, I know...Monty Python is awesome, but c'mon. Army of Darkness is just as much of a classic. The Evil Dead trilogy is the best thing the horror genre has ever produced!
-
ooh ooh, 2001 is starting to make it's move.
-
I haven't seen any of these. :-\

I guess you have your next five additions to your Netflix list.

Seriously. None of these movies are to be missed. For *vastly* different reasons.
-
I haven't seen any of these. :-\
I envy you. I wish I could watch Blade Runner, Holy Grail and Army Of Darkness for the first time again. If that makes any sense.

That makes tons of sense. Maybe it would be a great thread.
