I wasn't sure what to do with this story.  It seemed Steep Dover didn't appreciate his gifts because he didn't work to develop them.  I also felt that for a character to be struggling with figuring out what he wants to do in life I needed him to be a bit younger or to have spent more time with him before I felt sympathy for him.
