Every so often, over the last few years I keep going back to listen to this series.
The Fourth Ambit
http://www.ambitgroup.com/fourth/ (http://www.ambitgroup.com/fourth/)
It's a series of 9 hour(ish) long episodes, set in a future with what was presumably the internet after it has become a near-reality, all pervasive part of life.
The main character...........actually, just go and listen to them.
I think it's brilliant, it's very well produced (the best audio drama I've heard to date) and was written by Dawson Nicholls (who appears to have moved to Australia and, sadly, has never produced a similar piece of wondruss work as this since).
As far as I know, it never gathered a lot of attention when it was first produced but the site's been sitting there since at least 2003 or so.
There are a number of ideas spread throughout the episodes and, personally, 8 was the best.
Enjoy.

i've had a chance to listen now and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cyberpunk story. strong story & excellent reading, it's amusing to think that all voices were one guy (it would have benefited for a female voice actor).
the story as a whole had good ai characterization and the eighth chapter is definitely worth the wait.
the Poe story was also good.

Surely Boral(sp?)'s girlfriend was voiced by a woman?
If not I'm even more impressed.

OK, I give. I'm downloading it now.

I thought the same thing about the Watchmen Motion Comic.
