Nice! PP hasn't had stand-alone flash in quite some time. It's like a stocking stuffer! Beats the pudding out of an orange in the toe.

Beats the pudding out of an orange in the toe.
I hope that isn't a metaphor.

I LOVED this. LOVED.
But then again, I'm kind of sick and twisted. :)

An enjoyable flash story. Nothing really shocking or groundbreaking, but worth the time to listen.

Thanks for listening, Unblinking. The story first appeared 11 years ago. At that time, it was definitely considered shocking and groundbreaking. It's since been reprinted five times, illegally repasted dozens of times all over the Internet (including four occurrences at this moment for illegal download on bit torrent sites), adapted to a one-act play and performed by the Women in Theatre troupe here in Los Angeles, and now made a podcast for the first time.
It's been around. Been imitated. Been outright stolen. Over and over. All of which, I think, is a compliment, but might feel "worn" to some. I'm thrilled that Pseudopod gave it a chance to live through my voice.
Anyway, I'm glad you liked it, Kaa. Sick and twisted is just fine in my book. :) A reviewer for Famous Monsters said it was his favorite story this year, which made me very happy.
Thanks again!
Maria

And, may I say, very well read -- not every author can bring their own story to life as you did.

Awwww, thank you SO MUCH, kibitzer! :D :D

A horrific and graphic story done very well with a SUPERB reading! I especially love the singing for the carol. :-)

Thank you SO much, Muse! I'm thrilled you enjoyed it, singing and all. :D
