The Mooncakes of My Childhood was funny, but I kinda felt bad for laughing because the characters were in a terrible situation and killed people. I felt like it was an issue of the XMen not set in the USA for once. I haven't really thought about how other countries would react to events like that.

I felt like I needed a bit more of There is a Season to appreciate what the author was going for. The glimpse was a bit too fast.

Antler, Ash, and Onyx was charming and mysterious. The heart/laboratory was a visualization of the interconnections of the natural world. As complex as the machine was, nature is far more complicated and interconnected. I sometimes wish biology was more like in this story. Unlike Cara, we usually won't see the effects of our actions until long after the damage is done, and may not be able to fix them.
