Kudos to Podcastle for publicly refusing a prestigious award when they disagreed with its being awarded to someone else.

Details are non-existent, so here are the natural questions:

First,  what happened and who was it?

Why would Parsec Awards investigate an allegation in the first place if it had no intention of taking action were it found to be true? Would Parsec agree with the facts as presented in the Podcastle announcement?

If you feel you cannot discuss what happened or name the abuser because that would expose you to claims of defamation, why should Parsec Awards to do the same?

If you make a public announcement that one on a list of specific people are abusers, but you don't say who or what, then that unfairly tars them all with the same brush.

Finally, was it a "Harvey Weinstein" level of years of community coverup or was it a single incident with a specific person, or a pattern with fans? The community should know what to expect from this person.

I found this article which describes everything in depth. The person's name is Edward Champion.
