I remember listening to a story, probably on Escape Pod but possibly on Lightspeed, about a near future in which ubiquitous machine-generated gendered advertisements, crueler than anything that could be designed by a human, destroying people's self confidence to make them receptive to advertisers' products. A woman decides to go after the machine distributing the ads. Does anyone remember this story?

I also asked this question on Science Fiction and Fantasy Stack Exchange [https://scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/216266/podcast-story-about-woman-wanting-to-destroy-machine-distributing-emotionally-de].

Thanks.

  • I always lock the door when I creep by daylight.
The story this brings to mind is this one: http://escapepod.org/2013/05/16/ep396-dead-merchandise/

All cat stories start with this statement: “My mother, who was the first cat, told me this...”
