Timestamp ~11:00 ... the penny drops. Spoiler (click to show/hide)Is this a post-zombie world? Are the post-humans drained of blood? A world of vampires? Christ Almighty, this was an odd one. I enjoying being uncertain. I wonder if all non-humans still have heartbeats?
I enjoyed the author’s elegant world building. I meditate daily and focus on my breathing. Spoiler (click to show/hide)if THAT STOPPED, I would be up shit creek. What would I focus on? Would I be able to burry my head into the tummy of a nonplussed house-panther and focus on the dieseling purr?  :( :o
