I am trying to find an episode I remember listening to. The main things I remember is it is a kind of post-Lovecraftian apocalypse story where there is a community right at the edge of the disaster. Beyond the fence is a slouching shoggoth of some kind that is slowly, inevitably heading towards the community as well as some sort of creature with rainbow eyes.

That is all I can remember, if that jogs anyone's memory I'd be much obliged.

Found it! Totally by accident. It’s 465: Saturday

I knew the story was ringing a bell, but that title makes the story hide.

All cat stories start with this statement: “My mother, who was the first cat, told me this...”
