I just watched this -- fun adventure movie for the whole family. Not terribly much substance, but not every film needs to be about substance. If I had an eleven-year-old I would definitely take him or her to see this movie.
One problem, and it's kinda a spoiler so I'll post it in white; if you've watched it or just don't care, highlight it to read.
Does it bug anyone else that at the end of the movie the kid is still an accomplice to armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon in the commission of armed robbery, probably left plenty of evidence, not the least being a gang of thugs who have every reason to squeal on his involvement if they're caught, and has pretty much lost the credibility in claming that he was forced to do so (not much of a defense in the first place), since suddenly he's a kung-fu master and was perfectly able to protect himself later the same night? Not gonna do a lot of romancing the gift shop girl from behind bars.
