Hey, when the play
The Madness of King George III was made into a movie, they changed the title to
The Madness of King George so that *cough*Americans*cough* wouldn't think there were two previous movies...
Wikipedia: "However, director Nicholas Hytner has stated that the principal reason was to clarify that this was a film about a king."
Now it might just be me, but I cannot understand how the title change achieves that, so I can't help but think that that's not the real reason. And only one other reason has been proposed, one which has the advantage of actually making sense (even if it is based on probably faulty assumptions about the American public), I can only assume that
that explanation is probably the real one.
