anyone else watch it? I thought it was fan-friggin-tastic

I'd like to hear my options, so I could weigh them, what do you say?

Was the second season better than season 1?  Season 1 just got stupid.   commented about it in my Netflix thread.

Oh wow, I'm really behind on that thread.  I have to catch up.

I've only just started watching Season 2.  The short answer, from what little I've seen is a definitive "No."  It hits a critical mass of comic book cliches ranging from a virus that can take away people's superpowers to heroes back from the dead with, of course, amnesia.  And that's just in the first episode.  On the bright side, I believe it's only 10-12 episodes (due to the writer's strike).

I'm only watching because season 3 definitely looks cool.  There was a lot I liked about the first season, and I'm hoping they're able to reclaim a bit of that magic in season 3.

"King Crimson" played that one as an encore during the 2000 tour (it's on the Heavy ConstruKction live album).  I think both Fripp and Belew were on Bowie's original recording; I'm too lazy to check it out.

Depends. I loved season 2, too.

Therefore you and I may not see eye to eye in terms of TV :p

Off on a tangent, I hated the entire third season of Six Feet Under and thought season 4 was almost as bad.  I had given up on the show, and cancelled HBO from my satellite service, when my wife and I had to take an apartment for six months and HBO came as part of the cable internet/TV package.  We figured as long as we had HBO again we'd check the show out, and the ending was worth all the suckage of seasons 3 and 4.  So I guess what I'm getting at is, a show can redeem itself from even the suckiest of lows.

As to Heroes, I'll have to get the first two seasons through Netflix before I can pick up on the current show.  It's a show I'm interested in, though (unlike Lost).

Glad to hear that.  I also thought  Six Feet Under started sucking in Season 3 and I gave up on it during Season 4.  I  I recently added Season 4 to my NetFlix list as I want to see it through and be done with it.

Shwankie and I slogged through Season One and are avoiding the rest.
It all started out so well, then it kept going, and going, and going, and just when it was about to end, it kept going.

I'll quote my post from the other thread:

Fun, but it got weaker and weaker as the season went on.  I got to where I was screaming, "ok, Sylar's knocked out.  Now crush his f*****g head!!"  Seemed like it would have made a fantastic 12 episode season on HBO, but it couldn't hold on for 22.

There was a lot of good stuff, but when your killer is lying there knocked out, KILL HIM!!!

Or. At the end of the season, when he's supposedly dead, HOW DO YOU NOT NOTICE HE"S GONE??

I think so.  Things are looking up.  They've set up some cool things.  My advice for the season 2 slogging is to just watch the Hiro stuff and the last two or three episodes.  Skip the road trip from Mexico.

Facehuggers don't have heads!

Come with me and Journey Into... another fun podcast

I have now seen three episodes of Heroes season 2.  Holy crap, this makes Fringe look like the best show ever.  I really, really liked most of season 1 (some of the episodes, like Company Man, the Days of Future Past episode, flat-out blew me away).  But thus far the only thing I like in season 2 is Nathan Petrelli being so down and out (and I think he's been in the show for about 7 minutes).  Everything with Claire and alien Superboy is painful, Nikki really has never done anything for me, and Peter's amnesia stuff is just. Bad.  And in general, the new characters bore me.

Sylar showed up in the last episode, though, and I know Veronica Mars is coming, too.  So that might help.  Maybe.

I still plan on finishing it out because I'm a glutton for punishment.

Let me know how Veronica Mars goes.  My wife and I are now on Season 2 and liking VM quite a bit.

I like it okay, don't get me wrong.  I just think it could be way better.

Nash, definitely stick through to Season 3 on VM.  Season 2 hits some bumpy points and is the weakest, but season 3 was really, really good and it's a shame they didn't get picked up for another season.

season 2 sucked.  dont expect much.  theres some cool powers, some interesting-ish Sylar stuff, some interesting-ish Peter stuff, aaaand... some semi-entertaining Hiro stuff.  thats it.
so far tho, again, season 3 is rockin :)

Veronica Mars season 2 is the weakest of the three.  Did I mention that already?  Season 3 is actually pretty great.  Sad it got cancelled.

Veronica Mars on Heroes? Sucks. Possibly the worst new character on the show, to be honest. Not that it's her fault, she didn't have a lot to work with script/storywise.  But it's pretty bad.  We're almost done with S2 of Heroes.  It gets a little better at the end, but is pretty pale in comparison to what S1 was like...
