I just finished Scott Sigler's Contagious (took Steve's advice and picked it up with the usual pile of gift cards).
Wow. I don't think I spoil anything by saying it, as anyone who's familiar with Infected or any of the rest of Sigler's work, but wow, is he ever a writer who doesn't play nicely with his toys.
Highly recommended. Even if... ow.
