I know we usually don't talk about the connections, but there was this old indy comic called Baker Street, featuring the modern adventures of a punk, female sherlock.  And it was pretty much the best thing ever.

I second this.  The artist was Guy Davis who went on to work on Sandman Mystery Theater for vertigo.
