We need visual art to plaster onto merchandise and other places!  If you or someone you admire has a penchant for visual art, particularly of the line-drawing sort (although hardly limited to such), we would greatly appreciate seeing the fruits of that talent sent to artwork@escapeartists.net for possible inclusion on future merchandise such as t-shirts.

What should it depict?  Anything related to fantasy, sci fi, weird fiction, and/or imaginative new creations.  Bonus points for featuring some sort of device or strange machination the apparent purpose of which is to generate sound.  My gut says steampunk kind of stuff has the most accessible potential there, but play to your strengths.

It doesn't necessarily need to be in color -- monochrome is cheaper to produce and can still look great with the right design.  But color is nice too.  Even if we can't actually produce something with every design, we'll definitely make a nice gallery of our favorite submissions at http://escapeartists.net (which is clearly in need of content).

The address for submissions is:  artwork@escapeartists.net

Spread the word to anyone you suspect might be interested!

okay, this is just my first draft for a pseudopod shirt design/logo/whatever you want to use it for.
ZOMBIE IPODS WITH CTHULU TENTACLES IN THE BACKGROUND!

I need to add to it, redraw it bigger, make the other lil zombie ipod's bigger with glowing screens, overcast the whole pic in a green mist when i color it, etc.
but i wanna know what you guys think! :)

I'd like to hear my options, so I could weigh them, what do you say?
Five pounds?  Six pounds? Seven pounds?

Very cool.  Make as large a drawing as you can and get as clean a scan as you can.  Also, if it is chosen for the current shirt batch, it will be one color, I'm not sure if the Ipods will come across correctly then.  Shouldn't they be Epods?

On a critical note, something seems off about the image.  I don't know if the Ipods are dominating the scene too much, or what, though.

i honestly cant see anything off about it, but either way i'm doing a bigger one, that one was 1.5 x 2.5 inches on paper heh, this one is a whole page.
i'll be scanning it in, touching it up with the comp so it has crisp black lines, as well as coloring it in on paper and scanning that in just because I want to, and... yeah.

I'd like to hear my options, so I could weigh them, what do you say?

Some concepts received, based off the RKO Tower.  I'll clean this up later.

"Here is my Escape Pod art concept, designed mainly for a t-shirt.  The original illustration is vector (line art).  I am open to suggestions on the art and the SciPod menu items.  Was partial to "Demolecularize," but decided to go with "Vaporize."  Also had to cut "Regenerate" from the list.  I get a kick out of "Shuffle."

Hale's vision of manned satellites from 1869: the brick moon (pretty sure copyright has expired)
the image has elements of both escape pod & pod castle, just wish that Hale had included tentacles for the full sweep.

the podgun is awesome. I like shuffle quite a bit too. It makes me giddy. :)

Oh, great and mighty Alasdair, Orator Maleficent, He of the Silvered Tongue, guide this humble fangirl past jumping up and down and squeeing upon hearing the greatness of Thy voice.
Oh mighty Mur the Magnificent. I am not worthy.
