While Hell Raiser won the top spot in Group 2, there was a tie for second place between Phantasm and VideoDrome.  We will break that tie after the ten groups are finished.

Group 3 is a bit more obscure, with a couple exeptions.  This poll will run until Jan 15th, so you'll have plenty of opportunity to watch these selections.

In anticipation of comments regarding Speilberg's War of the Worlds of 2005, let me just say that you'll have a hard time convincing me that it is not a horror movie.  Jurasic Park was questionable for sure, but not this version of War of the Worlds, in my opinion.  I guess the votes will decide.

You misspelled Pet Sematary:P

Again, I've seen only three of these (Pet Sematary, Dead Ringers, Audition).  Abstain.

Uzamaki sounds interesting tho'.

I haven't seen any of these.  I have read the manga of Uzumaki, which was awesome and very horrific.

As usual I'll abstain 'cause I'm not well-versed in the horror film genre.

Y'know, though, I've never seen Altered States. It was always was of those films I was gonna see, but never did. Is it really horror?

I have seen The Devil's Backbone and it was a beautifully creepy piece of work thematically, story-wise and visually. Wonderful film.

Hostel and its ilk are not the type of horror I ever want to see. Visual hack and slay just isn't my thing. I don't mind full-on gore, but not for its own sake. (I'm aware I may be misjudging the film since I haven't seen it, but still).

I recently re-read Pet Sematary and while King can write quite well when the fit is on him, this one seems overlong. Good creeps, though.

+1.  Pure slashers interest me not at all.

One of the most disturbing things he's ever written, IMO.

It's not too late.  You have until Jan 15th to watch them, if you want to, before you vote  :)

Compared to many of the posters here, I wouldn't cosider myself well-versed, either.  But over Halloween, I started considering what were my favorite that I had seen, and then wondered what others thought.  My previous post on the forums drew so much interest, I thought it was worth a poll series.  All that to say, if you have an opinion about the selections, it doesn't hurt to vote.  Regardless, I apreciate you comments.

I just (re) watched Cemetery Man, and was wondering if it's going to be in the poll.  Because it really should be!  Excellent, if often surreal and silly, stuff.

Altered States is the only one of these I haven't seen.

[REC] and The Devil's Backbone are amazing. Uzumaki is pretty great, too.

Cemetary Man was not an entrant in my original poll list, but I took a look, and slipped it in.  It will be included in a future poll group.

There is a 4-way tie for first place.  Poll ends on Friday.

i just finished the last movie.  i greatly enjoyed uzumaki, the strange camera tricks put me off at first but once you're used to it it's interesting to see what happens next.  strangest movie villain ever.

scream's lead surprises me, it's probably a result of the greater exposure than the foreign films.  which is fair when doing a 'best of' movie poll.

btw, hellraiser is one word in future polls.

I've seen it both ways, but hey, I'll make it one word.

Pet Cemetery. Hands down, best in this list. I simply cannot believe Scream came in over PC. That little boy! First horror movie that made me cry... should have joined this forum sooner. Shoulda, coulda, woulda and all that jazz. Poor little Gage... out-shined by some dude in a mask.
