I upgraded to Itunes 9 and now the "sync" option is greyed out in the menu. I cannot add or remove anything from my IPod. Yes, this computer is "authorized".

I also cant go back to an earlier version of ITunes, because apparently 9 did somethingoranother to my music library.

Help.

:(

you can't sync to your ipod when you plug it in?

I'd like to hear my options, so I could weigh them, what do you say?
Five pounds?  Six pounds? Seven pounds?

when its plugged in, after i drag new stuff into the various playlists, and then go to click "sync" in the menu, its greyed out.

I have installed it twice, I am just so sad and frustrated.

claims to have synchronized, but after I disconnect, I find the mp3s listed in the chosen playlist have not changed. They do not reflect what's seen in ITunes.

click on the ipod in the left column, go to the music tab, if you want to sync the entire library, do that, otherwise click only selected playlists and mark which ones you want sync'd

Whoa, I fixed it.. thanks!

the problem wasnt that, but you pointed me in the right direction.

You know that screen that says "welcome to your new IPod blah blah blah".. well I'd been ignoring it it and just going right to my playlists.

But apparently you have to bypass that screen, at least by clicking "register later", to get it to sync.

Fancy that.

I have no further use for iTunes.  Only the iPod itself stands between me and an Apple-free lifestyle.

I really dont have many problems with iTunes.  I use it to play music and sync my iPod and iPhone and it does just fine with that, with a few hiccups here and there, but otherwise just fine :)
what's better about media monkey?

what's better about media monkey?

It does everything I used to use "iTunes for Windows" for -- but without trying to install a whole bunch of shit that I don't want, every time there's an incremental update.

And it's not from Apple.

...wait, is that redundant?  :P
