Cheyenne Wright, whom many of you know from his readings for Pseudopod and PodCastle and award-winning colorist of the Girl Genius webcomic, is in the hospital. Doctors apparently don't know what's wrong, but the Foglios (of GG) are going to set up a fundraiser to help defray his medical bills.

More details here.

It looks like the fundraising option is still being set up, but we'll keep an eye on it.

In the mean time, thoughts, prayers, and good wishes.

Great news - according to today's Girl Genius, apparently it's a virus and not anything more serious as originally feared.

There will still be a fundraiser to cover health costs, though, and I certainly plan on contributing.

The hospital might just be considering it as a simple problem. Anyway, about the fundraising, it could be a big help if it would be done nicely.SEO Services

Well, a "simple problem" is a relative measure, but apparently it's something that can be treated, as opposed to something life-threatening or something that will require monitoring for the rest of his life.

The fundraiser will (according to Girl Genius) consist of ebay auctions and wallpaper sales, so people will get some value out of contributing in addition to just positive feelings.

Thanks for updating that, eytanz. Scary times and hoping it's not anything long term.

Those of us with excellent health insurance coverage sometimes forget that people who make their living in a non-corporate way don't always have the same luxury.  Thank you for bringing this to our attention.  When someone gives of themselves like Cheyenne does, it's important that fans and supporters be able to give back.
