Last week The Last Unicorn came in just one vote over Neverwhere!  So while Gaiman had five solo entries, all of which won their groups, all of them are now eliminated.  Though his entry with Terry Pratchett may yet make it to the finals.

Today, we have the 800 pound gorilla of the poll - or should that be 800 pound Uruk-Hai?  LoTR has always been the favorite to win this poll, let's admit it.  But it has to get past some pretty heavy competition first.  And personally... Wonderland and Looking Glass are very special to me.  There's a lot there, combining absurdity and philosophy, political satire, and fantastic imagery.  The books have really got something for everyone, and I find new things in it every time I read them.

I think you mean "curiouser and curiouser".

All cat stories start with this statement: “My mother, who was the first cat, told me this...”

Okay, I confess.  I voted for Lord of the Rings even though I only made it through the first book and it just isn't my cup of tea.  I just really disliked Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and think that LOTR is much more influential.
