Hey, everybody!! I'm brand new here, just joined this morning, and primarily to access the collective brain to answer a question for my mother, which is as follows:
We both remember reading a short story which involved a person, possibly a math teacher, who wakes up one day to discover that he's been turned into a calf, grazing in a field. He and all the rest of the herd are rounded up and put into a building, and then he sees a guy with a hammer moving through the herd of calves, slaughtering them. In desperation, he uses his hoof to draw several mathematical symbols in the dust between himself and the man . . .
Does anybody know the name and/or author of this story? Mom would dearly love to enjoy it again.
Thanks!!
