GREAT Great great news for our little PodCastle family: our associate editor (and chief editor of GigaNotoSaurus) Ann Leckie has just gotten a THREE BOOK DEAL WITH ORBIT!!!

THREE BOOKS, PEOPLE!

The deal is for her space opera novel Ancillary Justice (formerly titled Justice of Toren), which both Anna and I got to read, and suffice it to say we think it pretty much kicks ass. No official release date for it yet, but I asked Ann's permission to post the good news here, and she gave her blessing. And we're all pretty-well excited about this. (Ann thinks she is more excited than we are, and while I have considered demanding scientific evidence to back that up, I haven't yet followed through with it. Emphasis on the "yet".)

Congrats, again, Ann! Looking forward to reading it all over ;D

(Now somebody ask her when she's writing her Marsh Gods-esque fantasy novels!)

Yay Ann Leckie!

Okay, I'll bite. I've loved each of the March-gods stories, please tell me they're up next? :D

Seriously, guys, this book is so, so, so good.  And it's space opera!  Which I hear some folks around these parts wish they were reading.

Thanks, everybody!  I'm kind of still not quite believing it's true.  It seems to be true, though!  :)

Woot!

And I'm glad that the Hugos use the instant runoff voting system because The Wheel of Time series is also a Hugo nominee.  This way I can show them both some love.

I don't think it's been mentioned over here, but Ann Leckie has won the Arthur C. Clarke award with this book. This is the "best novel of the year" award. Here's hoping for the next several award rounds.

Congrats to Ann for winning the Nebula! :)

Awesome!  And I see Rachel won best Short Story for "If You Were a Dinosaur, My Love."  A PodCastle twofer! (PodCastle alumni count...)

Yay Ann!  I love that book and I'm looking forward to the second one.

Also Yay Rachel!  I, uh, didn't really care for the story, but yay for you anyway!
