Not really sure where to put this thread, but I suppose this is a good a place as any. Eugie Foster passed away this morning from complications related to cancer. She was 42. It's a huge loss for the SFF community, and she was particularly beloved by the podcasting world.

Her last story appeared yesterday at DSF: "When It Ends, He Catches Her". It's gorgeous. Go read it.

Very sad news. She was a great talent, and her stories (both the ones that were run by the EA podcasts and others I've read) were uniformly excellent.

Condolences to her family and to all those who loved her stories and characters. Cancer is the worst thing in the world.

The post on EscapePod.org has links to all of the podcasts she was involved with, but they're Facebook links. May I suggest that those be edited to be direct links? And if it's a forum moderator doing so, feel free to delete this post when that's done, rather than reply to it.

Just awful news. As a listener, Eugie's stories were the ones I first started to recognize and cheer for when I saw her name show up in the EP/PP/PC feed.

She was great to work with. It's a terrible loss, and I'm gutted for her family and friends.

God damn it, that is lousy news to start the day with. And even lousier for the people close to her; my condolences to them.
