Trying to find a story about a guy who removes his own skin.

Okay so I have a question.

I'm pretty sure that a while ago I listened to an audiobook on pseudopod about a guy who removes his own skin and then the skin of another person to feel something but his own skin grows back and

at the end he gets killed by being put in salt or something

but I can't remember the name of the story for my life so if you can help a guy out it'd be well appreciated.

Are you thinking of Bliss ? That's the story with the self-skinning that's stuck with me the most.

I was going to mention Face Change as well. I know it's not the right story but it's certainly a good'un.
