Hi Escape Pod editors!

I was wondering roughly how long it usually takes to hear back about a submission?

I'm mostly slightly concerned because my email has been wonky and I just want to make sure my submission actually made it in. Some publications will auto-reply just to say they have successfully received a submission. I didn't notice any such reply from Escape Pod.

Any insight on this would be much appreciated, thank you!

The Submissions Grinder (http://thegrinder.diabolicalplots.com/) is a great resource to get ideas for the general response times for markets. PseudoPod aims for 60 day responses and is able to hit that most of the time.

All cat stories start with this statement: “My mother, who was the first cat, told me this...”

Dave, when did you submit? If it was prior to January 1, 2015, please query to the submit@ address immediately and we'll check whether it went down the email wormhole. If it was after that, you should get a response of some sort (either a rejection, or final-round bump notice) around 2-4 weeks after you submitted.

And yeah, the Submissions Grinder is awesome, and I can't recommend it highly enough. :)

Oh, I only submitted today, so I'm not concerned yet :)

Just wanted to get a rough idea.

Thanks!
