I'm looking for a story that I heard a few years back. I believe it predates "the orchard of hanging fruit", but it was around that time period.

The plot revolved around a man who was an artist whose drawings came to life. The man draws in chalk on the sidewalk.  A boy was being abused by his father and the man and child draw a tiger(?) which eats the father and frees the boy and his mother from the abusive realationship.

All help in finding this amazing story is appreciated!

Brandon

That's *kind* of like "Just Outside Our Windows, Deep Inside Our Walls" by Brian Hodge but may be a Podcastle story?

Or maybe "Terrible Lizard King" by Nathaniel Lee?

I'll check both of these.  I was certain that it was pseudopod, but you may be correct that it could have been podcastle. The story was brilliant.  Hopefully I am getting close to finding the transcript!

 Thank you for your help.

That sounds like The Man Who Drew Cats by Michael Marshall Smith.
There is a version on Drabblecast that I've listened to - (oops no links allowed, so google is your friend) but you can also get it in print.

Great story
