Well, I'll tag along and start a writing progress thread.
I've had a bit of luck and have gotten a few stories published. I've sold 4 stories so far, 3 of which are published, 2 of those are available for free. I've also had a few articles and interviews published by Fantasy Magazine. Links to which you can find on my bibliography page:
http://www.diabolicalplots.com/?page_id=65And that biblio page exists on my site, Diabolical Plots, a nonfiction zine providing reviews, interviews, editorials, centered around speculative fiction. We've had lots of cool guests, including Tad Williams, Orson Scott Card, and our lovely Podcastle editors. My own production for DP comes in fits and spurts, so there's often gaps in the schedule. If anyone would like to write a review or an speculative fiction related guest blog, please talk to me. There's no pay involved, but it can help you get a little exposure--you'll get a bio at the bottom of the article in which you can plug your publications and/or link back to sites of your choice.
As far as new fiction production, my writing rate has slowed down considerably lately. I think this may be just because I've got so many stories circling the markets that I feel no particular rush to produce more just to thrown them towards the swirling drain. (yes I'm a little pessimistic at the time of this post, could really use a sale) In 2010 I've completed quite a few stories, but none have exceeded flash length--which is all well and good, but a lot of markets won't even read flash fiction, so I'd like to broaden it back up again.
I try periodically to finish a novel. I've actually finished one, the very first fiction I ever wrote, and since then I've moved on to short stories and learned enough to realize how truly low-quality that novel is. But at the same time, I'm very emotionally attached to the way it is, so even though I see many debilitating problems with it, I don't have the heart to hack it up. Sooooo I'm trying to get started on a new novel, at the moment I'm thinking it will be a novelization that takes place in the world of my rejected Pseudopod flash contest story Constant Companion. But I'm stalling out trying to plot it out, so I'm not sure that's going anywhere anytime soon. It'd be really nice to finish a novel, because I owe editor Moshe Feder a submission (I met him at Minicon here last year), but I know from experience that if I force myself through it the novel will suck when it's done, and I don't want to waste his invitation to submit on something crappy when I know I can do better.
