I don't really want to comment on the story, it was fine. I want to comment because I am very disappointed by Matt's one-sided comment on the Gaza war. He's blaming the Israeli side of committing a genocide for attacking civilian infrastructure in Gaza. What else are the Israelis to do if hospitals, schools and mosques are used as bases by Hamas? That makes them legitimate targets in war .The Israeli army didn't enter Gaza to genocide the people living there. If they had, then there would have been many more civilian victims. The attacks on Gaza are necessary to defeat Hamas and in the end free the people living there. It is the right thing to mourn for the civilian victims of the attacks. Still, the Hamas must be defeated, even if the whole Gaza strip is destroyed, similarly to how Dresden was destroyed in 1945 in order to defeat the Nazis and free the Jewish prisoners.

It's understandable that you have differing views on the Gaza war and the comments made by Matt. Political conflicts are often highly sensitive and evoke strong emotions.

I get your point about the necessity of military actions against Hamas, but equating Gaza's situation to Dresden seems extreme. The loss of civilian lives and the destruction of essential infrastructure raises significant moral and ethical concerns.
