The Chinese are producing a new airplane called the Flying Phoenix (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=17504645). I'm I the only one who wouldn't fly on a plane called the Phoenix?

"Flying Phoenix" is not so bad.
It's boarding the "Collapsing Into A Heap Of Smoking Ashes Phoenix" that I'd avoid.
non-sequitur:

I concur; you should be perfectly safe. Afterall, if you can rely on the Wikipedia story, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_%28mythology%29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_%28mythology%29), you just need to make sure they don't land on a "nest of cinnamon twigs".
Oh crap... something else for the TSA to ban from carry-on luggage! :-\

After working with Chinese suppliers trying to get into the aerospace industry I have to say this terrifies me much more than just the name of the aircraft. The companies I've worked with view quality departments as "unnecessary overhead". Yeah, that's a quote.
