Hey just thought I'd start a thread where we could share any Christmas/Hanuka/Kwansa/Festis gifts that were scifi/geek related.
Here's mine. (http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/rc/9447/?cpg=froogle)
My wife totally surprized me with this. I just offhandedly mentioned this would be cool. It is. My kids are scared of it though.

I won't embarass myself, and others, with my attempts to embed links. Instead, my geek gifts this year took a distinctly Doctor Who esque turn. Thanks to my wife, who is wonderful in ways I'm still blown away by, we are now proud owners of:
-A TARDIS USB hub.
-A Doctor Who ice cube tray.
-A twelve inch animatronic talking Cyberman. With a motion sensor.
Awesome:)

I suppose mine were all geek gifts of one sort or another, the genre just varies. Thaurismunth's mom got me a book called "garnishes." Yep, an entire, illustrated book of food garnishes. She knows I'd actually read, use, and love it because not only am I a chef (which isn't geeky in and of itself), but I have this weird passion for creating Bento box lunches (which, of course, kicks my little food eccentricities right over into the geek realm).
The more SciFirelated geek gifts though, were:
-Countless books by Spider Robinson (and one by Robinson/Hienlein, which I may review at some point) and S.M. Stirling.
-The 25th Anniversary edition of one of the first Anime movies to hit the US. I cried.
-A "survival" flashlight that projects snowflakes and carries a hidden stash of candy. Did I mention it has a lanyard?

I had a good geek christmas.
I've had the Lord of the Rings (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/823) board game for a year or so, but this Christmas I was given the Friends and Foes (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/2449) expansion and the Sauron (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/3819) expansion for the game. Wowzers!
I also was given a Graphics Tablet, that means I can now do my doodeling on screen.
It's been a great Chrisitmas. Oh, and to top it all, I'm off to play a game of DOOM : The Boardgame (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/10640) later, what a great way to start the new year!

We didn't really do Christmas for grownups this year (our bank was purchased, funds were mis-transferred, and a direct deposit was refused, blah blah blah. money is stupid) BUT ...
Last year my lovely bride gave me a very comfortable and awesome Brown Coat.
