There was a thread about this a year ago, but it seemed a better job to start a new one than bump up a long-dead thread (feel free to yank this and throw rocks at my virtual head if you disagree, mods).
What, if any, cons are you planning to attend this year?
If any of you live in the northeast, I'd recommend checking out I-Con in Long Island in April. Pretty big and always a blast. Harlan Ellison is one of the guests this year (along with Elizabeth Bear, Jeff & Ann VanDerMeer and assorted others) , and if you've never had the privilege, he's quite a colorful character. Heh.
I also will probably head to Poughkeepsie for Noncon in February, mainly because I'd love to meet Randy Milholland (Something Positive).
I'd love to get back to Dragoncon some year, but $$$. :p

I'm planning on being at Technicon in Blacksburg, VA this March. George R.R. Martin is supposed to be there, but I know he's behind on his current novel and canceled his whole Asia tour, so we'll see. Aside from him, I don't recognize anyone on the list. Looks pretty small.
As for Dragoncon, I live in Atlanta, but my wife and I celebrate our anniversary on Labor Day every year, and she's not a "fan," so I don't normally go.

"gee honey, how about we do something nice and romantic this year, like surround ourselves with thousands of half-naked women and guys dressed like Klingons?"
:p
-
Hey, don't think I haven't tried. ;D

'Munths and I will be heading to She-Va-Con in Virginia in Feb. Possibly Balticon, but we're still working on that.
-
I'll be at Balticon and hopefully Dragoncon. I live in Baltimore so I'd love to meet up with any folks comin up!

Just got back from SheVaCon, and hope to have some updates soon. Right now, just tired :-) Bad news: I got no costumes completed, good news: 'Munths got one done. I ran into some unexpected issues with my space efficient build, as well as general Real World stuff interfering. Still a good time, though, and pics will be posted soon.

I'll be at Norwescon. Because, you know, I'm in the NorthWest.

Oh man, the guest list for I-Con keeps getting more awesome. Anyone who lives anywhere near the northeast should try and make it out for this:

I think I might be the most excited about Peter S. Beagle. I have a copy of 'The Last Unicorn' on VHS sitting by my feet as I type...
