So some guys claim to have found Bigfoot's body and are going so far as to hold a press conference :P

I have no doubt this is an elaborate hoax, but I'm interested in the attention it seems to be generating. :)

Once there's been an independent analysis of the remains, then there'll be something worth talking about.
But, if it's genuine, it would be very exciting.

These guys are so full of shit they could get full time work as fertilizer silos. I saw the pictures of the bigfoot costume in the freezer at cryptomundo.com last night at like 1AM, and I watched the "famed" bigfoot researcher on Fox News (Blech) this morning who was contacted by the two guys from Georgia who claimed to have stumbled onto the body contradict himself in the account of where the supposed carcass was, what condition it was in, and when it was discovered. He described how he "poked it with a stick" and invited the Fox News Reader to accompany him to the body recovery. Then he showed a picture of it in a freezer. Well, which is it? A carcass out in the woods, or a costume in a freezer filled with water because an ex cop and ex prison guard don't know how freezer works?
There's Crypo-science for you folks.
Not only that but, the two boobs who found the supposed decomposing remains were "trying to freeze it in a block of ice" in a kitchen freezer filled with water rather than, say, calling the archaeology/paleontology/biology department at the University of Georgia, they called a cryptozoologist. This has all the makings of a typical bad Sci Fi Channel Original Movie, only the costume isn't as good.

I don't have much trouble with the idea that there could be undiscovered large animals -- even primates -- somewhere in the world. Witness the recent discovery of a huge population of gorillas in the Congo. (http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/africa/08/05/congo.gorillas/?imw=Y&iref=mpstoryemail)
However, the thing that's always bothered me about Bigfoot is that the creatures are supposed to live in fairly close proximity to humans, but there are so few signs of them. If they existed in reasonably large numbers, I'd expect people -- especially biologists doing field research -- to constantly run across feeding areas, scat, nests, etc. And that never seems to happen. All we get is the occasional home movie and some ambiguous footprints. And of course, these idiots with the frozen gorilla suit....

It cost one of the guys his job. The policeman who was on administrative leave was fired for his role in the hoax.
