Ok, small annoying thing, maybe someone can help me out here. I listen to my podcasts on an iTouch (new version just released last week) and it displays a podcast's episodes with the most recent one on top of the list, oldest on the bottom. I play one and when it finishes it goes on to the next, which is nice, but I want to reverse the order it plays the podcasts in from oldest to newest, which is nice for when I'm catching up on serialized fiction. I've tried googling for the answer, but haven't found anything useful. Any ideas?

Have to make a playlist with the correct play order. My nearly-two-years-old Nano does the same thing with podcasts.

Make it a Smart Playlist, though, so it will keep itself updated as new episodes are added.

Smart playlist with Playcount = 0. Then as you listen, the episodes will be removed from the list.

Got it, just need to brush up on my smart playlist ninja skills. I spent about 10 minutes playing with it in iTunes 8. Here's what I learned.
- Each Podcast I want to play in reverse chronological order needs it's own playlist selected by "least recently added"
- If I want to combine several story podcasts, I need to make a smartlist for each podcast, and then combine it into a master playlist with a bunch of rules for "Playlist is <name of smartlist for podcast>" if I want to get my big fix of Escape/Clone/Castle/Steam/Pseudo stories.
- My order gets messed up if I've used podiobooks.com to subscribe to a book, and then do a "release all", since while there is a "least recently added" sort order, there is no "least recently released" order, and "date added" and "release date" are not synonymous.
- Apparently Steve Jobs did not get my memo to make the ipod more podcast friendly.
- Due to afore mentioned issue with date added and release date, if I'm burning an audio book from CD's I must remember to go in chronological order if I want to use the smartlists.

If you have your smartplaylist for the podiobooks sort by name, you'll usually end up with them in the right order, because they're named Episode 1, 2…
