Title: The Escape Pod Effect
Post by: Nt 2 B TKN INTRNLY on October 27, 2008, 12:01:36 AM
Ok. I've noticed something: now that I'm listening to EP again, I seem to be acting more intelligently, in a funnier, calmer, more imaginative way. Is it just because I'm finally getting my fix of stories again, or is it because of Escape Pod itself?

I don't know what's causing this, but Steve should really get a CC lisense on the "Escape Pod Effect". It could be useful if he ever wants to create a giant army of intelligent machines to take over the earth...

It also augments women's breasts by a cup size, and men will gain an extra couple of inches with corresponding increase in girth.  Furthermore, when you urinate, the scent of lilacs will linger for three days thereafter, and when you break wind it will smell of roses.

So, when are we going to see an SF or Fantasy story where spam emails actually do -proactively- what they promise?  I can see it now:  "Enlarge your fill-in-the-blank NOW!  Keep it, for modest payments of $19.95/month!"

Kinda makes the intrusive marketing of "Minority Report" seem kinda tame, eh?

Yours,
Sylvan (Dave)

But what about the side effects?

But what about the side effects?

Well, the early versions had a problem of causing people to spontaneously wonder whether or not a given story was actually sci-fi, but that's been mostly worked out of the more recent revisions...

But what about the side effects?

May cause bloating, constant headaches, Godlike powers, bad luck, financial crisises and a strange, orangy glow to everything you touch.
