Title: stePH's new avatar
Post by: stePH on January 25, 2009, 06:47:47 PM
Taking a page from Nash's book.  Poll will run through end of February, at which time I will take the results under consideration, and then probably just do whatever I feel like.  ;D

[edit]
For the sake of posterity:  the avatar in use at the time of this poll is

I don't see a vote for anal bum cover.  (2) votes for Maneki Neko so far.

I voted for Eeyore, as he's MY favorite character.

He's my avatar on another board I post to.

And here's my 40+ pieces obsession:

Added three more; sorry to everyone who's already voted.  Should I reset the count or let it stand?  If anybody wants to change their vote I'll reset and everyone can just vote again.

While I won't change my vote (obviously), I hope you do NOT use the bouncing bewbz avatar, as it will make my life more difficult.  I read these boards at the desk pictured above, in the living room, in full view of anyone else in the room, including my 15-year-old son.  I think he'd make it a point to read over my shoulder anytime I opened a board with posts from you on it, something I really don't need right now.   ;D

stePH, As a rule we're mostly hands off here about stuff like avatars, but I'd like to point out that many of our forumites read the boards at work or in an environment like izzaardfan's.  As a favor to those folks, I'd ask you not to use the bouncing bewbz.

Voted for the little ceramic cat.  Looked like it needed a home.

I think you should use the "violated terms of use" image.   ;D

Bump.  The deadline approaches (one week to go) ... are all the votes in?

Well, I voted for Eeyore nearly a month ago, but since then I've gotten to know you a little better through your board posts, and frankly, I don't think Eeyore suits you, especially not the one shown in the poll.  And not Hello Kitty either, whether it's the poll image or your current avatar.  While I have nothing against either of the tanuki images (balls are balls, no matter the animal), I do not care for "cute ceramic figurines" much, which is why I wouldn't vote for Maneki Neko either.  I'd go with one of the two Anal Bum album covers.  I like #1 except that it's black & white, another thing I'm not fond of.  I'd change my vote to cover #2 if it were possible to do so.

Or something else entirely. What about this?   (http://paulbuckley14059.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/calvin-and-hobbes.jpg)

The new avatar has been chosen.  Since I just lost my job today, my new avatar is this:

What would you do for a living if you had $10 million in the bank?

Love the avatar, but so sorry about the job.

Nothing productive.  I would watch DVDs with my wife, read books, and play games.

Sounds like my plan, too!

Sorry 'bout the job.  Good luck with finding another one, assuming you don't have the $10 million.

Also, with not having to sacrifice nine or ten hours five days a week, I'd probably have time to get back into music, getting back my skills at keyboard and bass, finally developing some skills on the Stick (http://stick.com/), and composing interesting music with no commercial potential.

Wow, the Stick is amazing!  Just based on the two videos showing how it works, I would think you could make very interesting music, commercial potential or not.

I actually sprung for the model with the MIDI pickup on the melody strings, though I later found out that it meant I had to buy a Roland guitar synth unit in order to use it.  I thought I could just run a standard MIDI cable to any synth, BUT NO!  >:(

Here it is, December 29, 2000 when I picked it up at my mom's house (where I had it shipped; wasn't comfortable having it left on my condo doorstep).

Not that I'm aware of.
