Title: Things that exist
Post by: Heradel on March 19, 2009, 02:50:56 PM

This is a thread for those things that don't quite seem real, but are. Like monkey butlers, weird underseas creatures, or Cthulhu kittens. Make sure to include a link back to something authoritative.

Curiously enough, somebody on another board (who I'm pretty sure doesn't listen to George Hrab) posted that a couple of days after the Geologic Podcast featured it as "Interesting Fauna".

The Burgess Shale Fossils (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burgess_shale_type_fauna) and others from that period - 505 million years old - contain creatures that are most outlandish, many having no modern descendants. Many with wierd symmetries.

Arg. The original site I grabbed the flash off took it down, put in a replacement.

I find it works best with textured surfaces or blocks of text.

SO MOTE IT BE! (http://image52.webshots.com/52/2/25/99/2458225990045721055klOylO_ph.jpg)

Actually, I was initially going to use a different picture (http://barrygoldberg.net/miscellaneous/deli_llama.jpg), but I have a suspicion that Anarq prefers a perkier llama with better grooming habits.
