Title: The 2009 Lyttle Lytton is up
Post by: Boggled Coriander on June 06, 2009, 02:37:39 AM
I'm a big fan of the Lyttle Lytton Contest (http://adamcadre.ac/lyttle.html).  It's inspired by the better-known Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest, but the object of the Lyttle Lytton is to create astonishingly bad bits of prose in 30 words or less.  The winning entries can reduce me to a helpless giggling mass.

The 2009 winners (http://adamcadre.ac/09lyttle.html) have been posted.  I can't decide if I prefer:

Quote
I have the ability to go through time, he suddenly remembered while at a bus stop near a tree.

Or:

Quote
Farmer John admired the golden corn, sprouting from the ground like buried treasure.

Or:

Quote
Despite having ascended to the most powerful political office in the world, President Zachary Herney was average in height, with a slender build and narrow shoulders.

Actually, that last one is taken from a Dan Brown novel.
