I agree. No thank you.

If you were to change it to read "should read Robert E. Howard" or "should read Fritz Leiber" or even "should read Edgar Rice Burroughs" (though the last one's a stretch) I bet you would find many of us agreeing with you. However those estates are much harder to broker a deal with than authors who write in similar styles or of similar subjects who are alive and possibly even just starting out. gee much like they do now. Keep up the good work, maybe we can see one of those famous authors for a mile stone episode (hint hint nudge nudge).

So I was looking at this board again and saw this topic and wondered
"who the hell thought of that dumb idea?"
and then realized it was me.
*hangs head in shame*

It's not dumb, bdoomed. Just maybe not very podcastley.
I've thought for a while that EA should launch a YA podcast called "Castaway." Fairy tales would be a good thing for them to do as flash.

ZOMG.. that'd be fantabulous. I know my girls would adore it. As it is, when one gets put out thaty I judge safe, I have them listen and they like EA quite a bit.

A variation of the original suggestion of fairy tales, has anyone read Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes? I loved that collection when I was a kid. It retells several fairy tales with things drastically changed. Red Riding Hood carries a revolver, and has a love for wolfskin coats, for instance. I read them as a kid, but there are a lot of beheadings and the like for modern kid's book.
I wouldn't care to hear just regular ol' fairy tales, but I would enjoy hearing these read. They're all really short, all of them together could be a single flash piece, most likely. Just a thought. :)

Of course, I don't know how difficult it would be to get permission from Roald Dahl's estate, but I still think it would be cool.
