Title: Do not trust cryptozoologists. It never ends well.
Post by: Heradel on August 03, 2009, 03:50:53 PM
Journalist hunts for acid-spitting Mongolian death worm (http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,25874136-5013016,00.html)

Now listen, one of two things can happen here. Either you spend two weeks wandering a desert, searching for a mythical acid and lighting emitting 1.5m long worm, and then don't find it and make the documentary about why people believe in a weird non-extant creature that you could have made in New Zealand which does not have 1.5m long worms full stop. OR you find and are killed by said acid and lightning emitting 1.5m long worm and thus become one in a long chain of its victims to never be found again because it spits out acid and devours you.

Cryptozoology rarely ends well.

I can picture it now:

'Oh it's so beautiful...look our fortunes are-'
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
'OH MY BEAUTIFUL FACE!  WHAT A WORLD!  WHAT A WORLD!'
THUD

I almost hope they DO find a Mongolian Death Worm. Those things are so freaky I wish they really did exist.
