This is a variation on many of the alphabet forum games out there but want to make it more reflective of our tastes/hobbies
First person will post an Authors Name, Next person has to post either a novel by that author that starts with the Last letter of their name or another Author whose last name (ie bookstore/library categorization) begins with the last letter of their name for example
Issac Asimov
And the next person could post Venus (http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?154665)
So I will start it Robert Lynn Aspirin

No Phule Like an Old Phule (2004) with Peter J. Heck
Harlan Ellison

OK, assuming I've got the right idea (and disregarding common articles like "a" and "the"), I'll go with:
The Neverending Story, by Michael Ende

Invalid, if I've got the right idea; The Neverending Story wasn't written by Harlan Ellison.
No Doors, No Windows (I know, it's an anthology, not a novel, but it was written by Ellison.)
And if that's invalid, then ...
Larry Niven.

You were right on all accounts if the anthology is completely Ellison (too lazy to google it), going with Larry Niven
Not Long Before the End (http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?53493)
I included the link in part as it is a good source for info for this game as is wikipedia (good for bibliographies as well as list of Horror fiction writers, and list of Science fiction authors)

No Doors, No Windows is indeed a collection of Ellison stories. He's got quite a few of those. I also have Ellison Wonderland.
