Title: forum favicon
Post by: deflective on September 11, 2009, 11:25:17 PM
i'd like to request a favicon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Favicon) for the forums.

maybe ep's favicon or something new that covers escape artists in general (eg: (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t126/deflective/ea.png) ).

I'm all for it.  Maybe we should start a contest.  Basically it's just a 16x16 pic.

with escape artists restructuring it might time to introduce a logo as part of the (minor) rebranding.

That had occurred to me as well..   (drumroll please)

Here's a Favicon (http://gtf.org/pynk/share/EAFavicon.ico) that I need to figure out how to embed in the site, and here's the logo (http://gtf.org/pynk/share/EALogo_78x78.jpg) of which it is a detail.  (Logo was designed by Jonathan Chaffin (http://jonathanchaffin.com) who also did pseudopod.org.)

Actually I'll probably use this better favicon (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t126/deflective/eafavicon.png) from Deflective.

psst Ben,  that's the same one you posted before.

(It's actually not -- it's got a transparent background, with only the radio and not the tiny flying saucer -- to make better use of the 16x16 pixels).

I'd go with the earlier one, as it looks like a Dalek in the browser tab wot I can see.
(I'm assuming this is deliberate)

Funny. I've been wondering what that thing was called, and why EA didn't have one. I just blamed Firefox.
Glad to heat its in the works.

Here's a favicon that I need to figure out how to embed in the site

have you looked into this any further?  if you drop a copy if the icon named 'favicon.png' into your web's root directory it should work from there.
