Title: Locked amount for monthly dontation
Post by: jeroen94704 on October 25, 2009, 03:00:32 PM
I love escapepod, and would like to set up a monthly donation, but not for $5 a month. Is it possible to set up a monthly donation with a different amount (less, I'm sad to admit ;))?

Thanks in advance,

Jeroen

sorry but no, what you can do tho is instead of 5 a month, if you can only do lets say 1 a month, do 5 every 5 months manually.

however there is no subscription available for less

Alright, I've gone and set a reminder every 3 months to make a $10 donation :).

Seriously, I'd expect Paypal to have a feature to let me set up regular transfers. My "real" bank lets me do that online, and they are supposed to be more conservative than Paypal! Ah well, there goes my world-view. Again ;)

FWIW, Decoder Ring Theatre (http://www.decoderringtheatre.com/) has three buttons for monthly contributions, $3, #5, and $10; and another button for one-time donation.

I did that with Decoder Ring Theatre.  (Gregg Taylor, its creator/producer/etc, actually set up a special Canadian Dollar link for me!)

Examining the donation link (i.e. the actual URL), I found that it had the amount embedded in it and I was able to change it to a different amount.  It could be that PayPal has changed their link format since then to fix that, but it might be worth checking out.
