Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say that I got a story published in Daybreak Magazine, edited by Jetse deVries (previous editor at InterZone). It's called "She's All Light", and it's my first professional sale (W00T!). You can read it for free at Daybreak Magazine's website (http://"http://daybreakmagazine.wordpress.com/2010/01/08/daybreak-fiction-shes-all-light/"). ;D
Thanks!
LaShawn

Way to go!

Nifty!
(I figured out the right link myself, but eytanz probably has the right idea posting it here.)
I enjoyed the story a fair amount, though the use of second person grated on me a bit, especially as I was told I was doing things that were completely silly from my point of view (even if they made sense to the protagonist.) Some people like the second person, some don't. The projected future felt very plausible on the whole, however.

Thanks for the comments! And thanks for the link, eytanz. Still trying to get a hang of posting URLs. :-)

I really liked the story. The voice was strong and consistent. I liked it more for the glimpses of the future than anything else, though. I did read faster as Tilda ran to Niecy's to witness her scaping, which means the dramatic tension worked for me.
