Title: Novelist Peter Watts can't catch a break

First he was beat up by U.S. customs guards (http://boingboing.net/2009/12/11/dr-peter-watts-canad.html), and now he's battling flesh-eating bacteria (http://www.boingboing.net/2011/03/03/peter-watts-blogs-fr.html).

That sucks!

I hope his recovery goes well and as speedily as one can expect for that kind of infection.

Yeah, I heard about that and couldn't believe. Poor guy.

On the brightside, Blindsight was picked as one of the best SF/F novels of the last decade by Tor.com (http://www.tor.com/blogs/2011/03/best-sff-novels-of-the-decade-readers-poll-results).
