Holy crap! My first ever novelette, Jam Don't Shake (http://vagabondagebookscom.ipage.com/bookstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=37) is now out through Vagabondage Press (http://vagabondagebookscom.ipage.com/bookstore/)!
They seem so innocent: jars of jellies and jams. But the inhabitants of the town of Goodman know better.
An additive in Auntie Goodtimes Jams and Jellies turns good people into rioting murderers when their supply is cut off, the factory burned to the ground, and the National Guard closing in.
Doug is trying to survive in this post-Goodtimes world, sating his addiction with a carefully dosed tablespoon a day of jelly. And, when supplies get low, Doug, like others, finds that cravings can be quelled with the blood of fellow addicts.
Is it really murder when it’s a matter of survival?
Long story short, "Jam Don't Shake" is a chaos of addiction, love, lust and violence set in a small midwestern town. This one has been coming down the pike for a while and I'm thrilled to finally have it out and about. :)

Reply a bit long in coming, but yeah, I'm Travelin Corpse Feet on the Drabblecast forums. :)

One copy duly purchased. For reasons too byzantine to go into I'm a sucker for jam related stories.

Thanks!
I really want to ask why about your jam fascination but I have a sinking feeling it's going to be some dark knowledge I was better without.

I suspect, as is often the case, the truth will be far less dark than your imagination. So I won't spoil it for you. ;)
As for the story it's next up after I finish reading Neverhwere by Neil Gaiman.

Just finished reading it. Good fun!
In the way that a dark tale of apocalyptic societal collapse and doomed love can be fun.
Loved all the jargon that evolved during the crisis about fruit baskets etc.
Just the right length to carry the story with enough detail without the central premise out staying its welcome.

Too me a long time to get back and say this, but I'm glad you liked it. :)
