A Techy note about the website. I view the web with images turned off in my browser. Odd I know, but I'm not alone in this. The point is that the podcastle web site is near impossible to read if you have images turned off in your browser.
It's for reasons of disability-compliance I mention this. So many web sites forget the impaired that I like to mention it when I have the oportunity. Especially when its about audio, it's so much more important to those with poor sight.
Thanks for your time and consideration.

Also consider language translation tools. If there's no text links to translate, it can be difficult.
A Google-translated podcastle.org (http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fpodcastle.org%2F&langpair=en%7Cfr&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools%22) looks pretty good.
A quick experiment reveals that when Google translates a page, it also translates the ALT tags associated with images. That's a good thing, allowing for a bit more design flexibility.
OTOH, I generally like the clickable text links to be underlined everywhere, in keeping with the GUI design concept of "Don't make me work, and don't make me think".
Edit by Bdoomed: fixed link! :)

My IT department has blocked the Podcastle web site as "sex, adult content". Is there any reason why, I don't have internet at home so I have been unable to look at the site to see if there is any sex or adult content. This will make subscribing to this podcast difficult.

they probably used something to scan for words and under submission guidelines it basically says if it's sexual in nature, you should consider submitting it to Open Source Sex. They probably flagged it because of that. Otherwise since there is no story content, and certainly no sexually explicit images, that's the only thing I can think. They scanned it, it had the word sex and sexual on it and without actually looking for themselves flagged it inappropriate. I also checked to see if it was possibly wrong dot whatever and neither .com or .net bring up anything inappropriate either. All I can suggest is ask you IT department to manually check the website, as you think it has been mistakenly flagged as "sex, adult content".

You could try using a proxy, but be warned: some IT departments think those are WORSE than sex-flagged sites.

If the company's small enough and the IT guy personable enough, it might be best to just ask him to unblock it. Or you could submit a request to the makers of the filtering software.

The simple solutions are always the best place to start.

Is it necessarily an IT guy?

If I did that they would just change the flag from adult content to productivity killer. Unfortunatly I work for a large company and the IT department's only joy in the world is inconviencing others. I think getting stuck down in the basement made them permenantly grumpy. >:(

I am not the webmaster, but I am pretty sure we have no adult content. We have hardly any content at all, yet. :(

Good point. Not that we want to complain, but when are we getting some content?
-
Can we at least get a timeframe for the first episode?

I'm in charge of content, not the technical aspects, I'm afraid. Direct all poking toward Steve. I'll even help.

It probably got blocked due to the large number of porn/spam links at the bottom of the PodCastle.org website. These links are only visible when Javascript is disabled and all of them point to thepodcastnetwork.com:12000/XXXXX where XXXXX is some random form of porn/spam (e.g. "Free Amateur Sex Chat Free Amateur Sex Chat"). While the links are hidden from view with Javascript enabled, you can still see them in the page source. Hopefully these ads will get removed when before PodCastle goes live with their podcasts.

I realize I've got awhile before I run out of Escape Pod stories, but when will PodCastle be up and running? I listened the the EP episode in which it was announced and thought, "It's been up since OCTOBER??? Dang. I've got another backlog to get through." Then I went to the website and found nothing in the way of updated news, just 81 comments wondering the same thing I am:
WHEN?????
Just askin'.

D'oh!
Sorry CI. I usually give someone a 5 or 6 post before I'm outright rude to them.
There isn't any public information about the status of PC, but you can bet that it'll appear here when there is.
