Title: Jared Axelrod's Writing Progress
Post by: JaredAxelrod on February 09, 2007, 03:25:36 PM
I've decided to turn my flash-fiction epic (no, really, it is) Waiting For Ironwine (http://www.365tomorrows.com/11/23/waiting-for-ironwine/)into a graphic novel not unlike is La Route d'Armilia , which I talk about in another thread (http://forum.escapeartists.info/index.php?topic=388.0).  The basic construction of that book is one full page of text next to one full page of art, with panel-work bookending the story proper.  In order to do a 64pg+ graphic novel in this format, I need to transform the linked story from it's little-over 2 pages current existence into robust, 30 page story.

At least it's all plotted out.

This past weekend's progress?  Not as much as I'd have liked.  But I got through some rough spots, and found the perfect way for our hero to keep warm in the cold wastes of an icy planet.  Lays some pipe for later, too.

Our hero, Ironwine.

Those doodles at the top are part of a wordless opening sequence.

That corned beef receipe is not part of the story.  At least, not currently.

And there.  Most of the pipe laid.  On to the good stuff!

This looks great:)  Are you going to self publish it or are you looking at a comic company to pitch it to?
