Title: The Innkeepers
Post by: lowky on March 09, 2013, 06:48:40 PM
anyone seen this?  came out in 2011.  it wasn't bad, but not great either.  I think its biggest shortcoming was it was trying too hard for a "Shining" vibe.  The blurb on netflix streaming talks about "When a venerable inn closing after a century in business, the lodge's two remaining employees investigate rumors that the place is haunted.  They used alot of the long hallway shots Kubrik used in the Shining.  It just didn't have as well written of a story, and it couldn't decide between implied, and explicit gore.

I think I saw that one.  It had the old lady actress character who was also psychic, right?

If it's the one I saw, it kept verging on good and then wandering off, like it got bored with itself every twenty minutes or so.

yeah, it had potential and then things would kind of fizzle out.  not horrible, but just could have been so much better.
