In case anyone's missed it, since these have been trumpeted seemingly from all ends of the internet, the Hugo award nominations were announced today, with many very familiar names among the nominees, including Rachel Swirsky, N.K. Jemison, Eugie Foster ('Sinner, Baker' was nominated for best novelette rather than short story), Mike Resnick and so on. :)

In podcast news, StarShipSofa nabbed a nomination for 'Best Fanzine,' which is a first for a podcast. :)

So congrats to all nominees, particularly those with EA ties. :D

Especial congrats to Starship Sofa, paving the way by changing things up.
Maybe EP will be in the running for Best Semipro next year?

Wow. I totally missed that! Very cool.

It's interesting to compare the novels/authors nominated this year with the ones nominated last year. It feels like this is more of an up-and-comers year to me where last year, it was like a hall of fame.

And I'm really, really happy to see Saladin Ahmed nominated for the John W. Cambell award.
